Restaurant Row

Downtown Aurora is having a fair amount of success in developing a restaurant row. It builds off of the Hollywood Casino, the Paramount Theater, and Waubonsee Community College. There are soon to be five eatery's in the row. Ballydoyle an Irish themed pub has been in place for almost a year and is an overwhelming popular nitespot for young and old alike.

The consulting team worked with the Village of Tinley Park to create the incentive programs for the development. The consulting team recruited the successful developer and helped negotiate the complex redevelopment agreement. The TIF paid for the land acquisition, infrastructure, and construction of the Convention Center. This incentive made it possible for the developer to construct the hotel. The development has been very successful, and is located at I-80 and Harlem (Route 43) in Tinley Park, Illinois.

PEORIA —

Caterpillar Inc. announced Thursday it may build a new hydraulic excavator plant in the United States, which could increase the company's excavator employment base in this country.

However, the company did not say what areas of the country it is considering for a new plant that could employ 500 or so.

Caterpillar said it has started to study, as part of its long-term strategic initiative, whether shifting some excavator production from Japan to the United States would best serve its future needs.
